The first tip should seem like a no brainer however it can be accomplish. Getting rid of caffeine is a huge step in finding ways to fall asleep faster. We all know that caffeine is designed and does a very good job at keeping us energized and keeping the body awake. If you absolutely feel that you need coffee to function throughout the day keep in mind that caffeine can stay in your body for up to 14 hours. I would say it would be a good start and even maybe an effective change to limit your coffee consumption to the mornings or before 9am to give your body plenty of time to flush that caffeine out before you head to bed for the evening.
Consuming alcohol may seem like a good way to get to sleep fast and it might very well be a good self medicating way to get to sleep however in the long run it is going to create dependency and cause more problems for you then it is worth. Not to mention the hauntingly true reality that there is a good possibility you will become an alcoholic.
Stress is one of the leading things that keep people from attaining a great nights sleep that their body needs. When you can alleviate the stress in your life or the effects that stress has on you in your life the better off you are going to be when it comes to sleeping habits as well as your overall health. A good practice to get in the habit of is to release the days stress 30 minutes before you lay down. Once you are in bed there is no use thinking about the problems and stressors that face you the next day. This is easier said than done a lot of the time.
