I spend a lot of time talking about ways to fall asleep,severe insomnia, restful sleep, and all other aspects of sleep and how to sleep better, but what if your problem is that you are getting too much sleep and its starting to effect your daily life. One thing that very few people know or even address when it comes to sleep is that too much sleep makes you tired. Lets say for instance you just got done sleeping a whopping 12 hours and now that you are finally up and about all you want to do is go back to sleep. You just slept 12 hours so why is your body still tired? This is a strange phenomenon that happens.
When we oversleep we are causing an unbalance in a sleeping regimen therefore it throws everything off whack. It is the exact same principal if you are not getting enough sleep. The average person is going to need between 6-10 hours of sleep a night depending on age. Typically the older you are the less sleep you need. A great way to break this routine of oversleeping is to establish a set schedule around your sleep and work. If you can swing it to where you are sleeping only 8 hours a night instead of 12 you will notice that your body will start to become more energized and you will feel a lot better throughout the course of the day. When you start following a strict sleeping routine you will effectively break the lazy lifestyle you had established through your sleeping habits.
So does too much sleep make you tired. The answer is wholeheartedly YES. Sleeping your life away promotes a sedentary lifestyle and will reflect in all aspects of your everyday life. When you break this snafu and get on a good sleep schedule and maybe throw some exercise and diet in their you are going to be well on your way to living a better/healthier lifestyle.Some final thoughts regarding sleeping to much. Also when you wake up from sleeping more than you should get up and about as fast as possible. Once you get out of bed and get up and moving the tiredness will slowly fade into the abyss as you get more active.
